Broadleafed Evergreens

Most broadleafed evergreens have wide leaves like those found on most deciduous trees, but the difference is a broadleafed evergreen will not drop their leaves in the fall season.

 Generally speaking, the farther south you go, the wider choice of broadleafed evergreens your going to see. Most tropical and subtropical broadleaf shrubs are evergreens, and in the south they constitute for the majority of garden shrubbery. Some kinds, like the magnolias, are represented in the South by broadleafed evergreens but have a deciduous species that grows well into the North.

I have been told, but never seen it myself, in the warmer climates, they decorate palm trees for the Christmas season. So between what we have heard and have seen with coniferous trees, we can say people tend to decorate evergreen trees, for the holiday season, in December.
