Shrub Rose

For many of years, if a rose didn't fit in an established class of roses, it was classified as a shrub rose. Many of the types were hybrids that only flowered in the spring and served as a medium to large shrub. The first known group of shrub roses, were developed in England in the early 1900's, and they are still grown today, they are known as the hybrid musks. New kinds of shrub roses have been sold through out the world, increasing the attention to the shrub rose. The popularity has grown for shrub roses, mainly because of the rugged, well-foliaged, and two being able to produce blossoms during a long grown season, ideally bearing the hybrid tea blossoms.
